Fumbling, by Danielle Ate the Sandwich, is the artist’s 8th full length album, with lyrically driven tunes touching multiple genres. Fumbling features songs about loss, acceptance, leaving an old life, and finding a new home in Kansas City. Recorded and produced in Kansas City, KS, by Fritz Hutchison and Al Hawkins, the project employed local musicians and artists to showcase Kansas City talent. The recording and release process aims to bring together a community of musicians, artists and makers, with the intent to celebrate and support these artists with financial compensation, to develop connections for future collaboration, and to help introduce Danielle Ate the Sandwich as a member of the musical community of the Kansas City region. The album is the recipient of an Inspiration Grant from ArtsKC, and the first single, “It’s Not Jupiter,” won Best Song By a Local Band from the Pitch KC’s Best of 2024.
