This intimate 3-day workshop for intermediate musicians will strengthen skills and give inspiration
for those interested in songwriting, performance and arranging.

Wonderstruck Ukulele Academy (WUA) is a multi-day immersive educational event focused on performance and songwriting for the intermediate ukulele player looking to sharpen their skills. This interactive, one-of-a-kind workshop features instruction from professional touring musicians Danielle Anderson of Danielle Ate the Sandwich, Erin McGrane of Victor & Penny, and Liz Chidester, who will share their knowledge and expertise in a small group environment. Along with group jams and an open mic, participants will enjoy student-focused classes on performance, songwriting, arranging and musical techniques. Wonderstruck Academy concludes with a concert featuring performances by the attendees of WUA, the new Wonderstruck Cadets.

Wonderstruck Ukulele Academy fosters personal creativity and expression in addition to technical music instruction through a deep dive, immersive weekend, resulting in an authentic, rich experience that generates a sense of strong community among the attendees. THE VOLLAND STORE

Wonderstruck Ukulele Academy 2024 will take place at the Volland Store in Alma, Kansas. The Volland Store was built in 1913 when it opened as Kratzer Brothers Mercantile. Recently renovated, The Volland Store is reclaiming its role as a center of community life where news and ideas are exchanged, and a place where descendants of homesteaders and visitors from Anywhere, USA, stage meetings, reunions, workshops and weddings, art exhibits, musical performances, equestrian events, and hoe-downs.

Wonderstruck classes and events will be held in The Gallery within the Volland Store. This light and bright, open space rises to the roofline, revealing the original second-story windows.
