NEW SONG FOR FLINT MURAL PLAYS
I wrote a new song inspired by a large scale mural painted on the side of a building in Flint, Michigan. This song was commissioned by the Flint Repertory Theater for Flint Mural Plays, and was produced by my incredibly talented friend David Bashford of Bashford Music.
“A Weight, A Wall” is inspired by Joe Miller’s colorful mural of a silhouetted sunset with 2 herons and a floating bear, and is about my battle with anxiety and how I dream about someday being a calm and centered person. It was an honor to be asked by Michael Lluberes to join Flint Mural Plays. This city-wide event combines public art, music and theater into a walking tour through the city. Find my new song, “A Weight, A Wall” here:
For those near Flint, MI, you can experience the walking tour and events from June-August. For those who are farther away, enjoy the art and pieces at: https://flintmuralplays.org/audio-plays/
The location of the mural is Carriage Town – 401 Martin Luther King Ave, Flint, MI 48502
