PAPER SHAKER
Materials:
Toilet paper roll
Scotch tape
Glue stick
Scissors
Pencil
Construction paper
-Trace 2 circles on colorful construction paper using the end of the roll as a guide
-Draw another circle about an inch around the first circle you drew
-Cut out around the larger circle
-Cut small slits around the circle, not extending through the smaller circle
-Place one circle on the one end of the roll and tape to secure (save the other circle for the end)
-Decorate with paper, stickers, and markers
-Fill with beans, rice, paperclips, or buttons
-Tape on the other end
-SHAKE!
Cardboard Ukulele!
Materials:
Pattern piece printout
Cardboard, card stock
String, rubberbands or yarn (4 pieces)
Hot glue
Scissors
Pencil
Black Marker
-Cut 2 (or more) ukulele shapes
-Cut the center circle out of the piece you will use for the top of the ukulele
-Cut 2 rectangles for nut and bridge
-Fold in half and cut four slits
-Cut 4 strings or rubber bands the length of the ukulele
-Slide the rubber band through the slits, leaving 1/2 on the inside of the fold
-Apply hot glue on the inside of the fold and press shut
-Do the same for the other rectangle
-Glue your ukulele pattern pieces together
-Decorate as you’d like!
-Hot glue on the nut, press and hold until secure
-Stretch the strings or rubber bands to fit the bridge below the sound hole
-Glue and hold
-PLAY!
Straw Flute
Materials:
4 or more plastic straws
Scissors
Tape
Decorations
-line the straws side by side
-tape around the straws
-cut the end of the straws different lengths
-decorate with tape, string or paper and pom moms
-PLAY!
Paper Plate Tamborine
Materials:
2 paper plates or bowls
Something jingly (paper clips, buckles, jingle bells
-Decorate the plates
-put in the jingly stuff
-tape together
SHAKE!
