Happy Juneteenth! June 19th, 2020

Happy Juneteenth! On June 19th, Bandcamp is donating their share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. I recommend downloading the albums of these incredible artists (and then following them on social media and signing up for their email lists!) If you happen to read this AFTER June 19th, still feel free to support and follow these artists.

June 19th or Juneteenth is the anniversary of the date when the last slaves were read the Emancipation Proclamation on June 19th, 1865.

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund is a national organization that has a long history of effectively enacting racial justice and change through litigation, advocacy, and public education.

Bandcamp is always a cool site because it doesn’t charge artists to upload music and they only take a percentage if we sell music. Itunes, amazon, google, etc, make you pay a yearly subscription fee to have you albums online. Bandcamp also has certain days where they give artist 100% of the proceeds to artists or organizations like the NAACP. Support businesses who support artists!
