Danielle Ate the Sandwich is the stage name of Fort Collins-based, pop-folk songwriter, Danielle Anderson. Danielle has been touring nationally since 2009 after cultivating an online following from her homemade videos on Youtube and her unique style of online marketing that brings her music to the audience she affectionately refers to as “Fanwiches.” Her songs can be thoughtful, heavy and serious, but Danielle rarely takes herself too seriously. She’s known for her quirky lyrical twists, performing most frequently with a ukulele and delivering witty and honest stage banter in her live shows.
Danielle Ate the Sandwich has 6 albums of original music and over 200 music videos on Youtube. She’s been touring the United States since 2009, has made appearances internationally, opened for Mumford and Sons, Suzanne Vega, Pomplamoose and wrote the soundtrack to the Emmy nominated HBO documentary, “Packed in a Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson.‘
Like stumbling into a rose garden on a trek through the arctic, listeners of Emily’s music find themselves helplessly lifted into a world so hauntingly familiar, and yet so enchantingly curious. With a voice of untouchable purity and lyricism of remarkable wit and poignancy, Emily cradles matters of the human heart with an almost impossible sweetness.
After many years of studying songwriting & music business in Boston, and with several tours and recording projects under her belt, Emily has returned to her native Fairbanks and risen to deserving prominence in the tightly knit music scene in Alaska. In fitting testament to this, she received the Rasmuson Foundation’s Individual Artist award in 2016 to assist her in making a full-length album. This new record, Simple Things, perhaps her most ambitious and stunning project to date, is available for streaming and download everywhere.

A concert featuring Danielle Ate the Sandwich’s original songs and the voices of the Vocal Coalition choir, a youth choir based in Denver, CO.
VoCO pairs Colorado students with Colorado artists in unique, community-cultivating vocal music experiences. When Colorado artists of all genres collaborate with youth across the state using their own original songs as the tool for connection, generations and communities are brought together in profound and unexpected ways. Check out our 2017 TEDx MileHigh presentation to see the concept in action, and why we think it matters.
Tickets for our concert on 5/21 are only $10. Purchase tickets, here: https://www.vocalcoalition.org/tickets/dats
